Meet Duncan Macdonald:

Why did you choose to join NextWave?

There were two main aspects of the company that drew me in. First and foremost—the people! I met several members of the team before I joined NextWave, and their energy, drive, and experience gave me confidence that I was joining a highly capable team. Everyone I've engaged with has been welcoming and engaging, and I felt certain I was joining a strong, well-aligned group that values success.

Secondly, I was impressed by NextWave’s standing as a trusted partner in the FS&I technology space. Their ability to understand client problems and provide the right solutions was a major draw for me.

What has been a career highlight for you?

One of my career highlights was setting up the first graduate hiring process at Appian UK. This initiative involved developing a thorough interview process and training for candidates, many of whom have gone on to become respected professionals in the Appian ecosystem. It was rewarding to be part of such an initiative that fostered talent and built a culture of development.

Where can we find you when you’re not in the office?

I love the mountains! Despite living in Norfolk, one of the flattest parts of the country, I usually ski each year with my family, and I also enjoy hiking and biking in the Italian Alps when I can. My most recent trip to the Dolomites was both inspiring and energizing, offering the perfect break to recharge before starting at NextWave.
